1. What this covers

This policy covers Chromozom's online tools, today an image converter and an SVG converter, and the Chromozom account you can create to use them. You can use the converter without an account.

2. Information We Collect

What we collect depends on how you use the site:

• Images you convert. The file you upload and the converted result, along with its name, size and the options you chose.
• Your account, if you create one. Your name, email address, profile picture and sign-in details, and your usage and credit balance.
• Visit counts. When you open the workspace we count a visit. For signed-out visitors this is a one-way daily hash of your address and browser details; it cannot be turned back into either and does not carry over to another day.
• Technical data. Your IP address and browser details are used to apply usage limits and to keep the service secure.

3. How Long We Keep Your Images

Uploaded images and converted results are deleted one hour after you upload them, or 24 hours if you are signed in so that you can find them again under Recent files. You can download a result as many times as you like within that time, and delete your files yourself at any time. The record of a conversion (its size, format, time and outcome, but not the image) is kept a little longer, then removed. Because files are deleted automatically, we cannot recover an image after that time.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use it to convert your images, apply file-size and usage limits, run accounts and credits, keep the service secure, and understand overall usage. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not look at the content of your images except as needed to convert them.

5. Advertising and Cookies

The site is free to use and is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense, which may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, including ads based on your earlier visits to this and other sites. You can manage personalised advertising in your Google ad settings or at aboutads.info, and block cookies in your browser; the converter works without them. We also use a cookie to keep you signed in if you have an account. Where the law requires your consent for advertising cookies, we ask for it before they are set.

6. Third-Party Services

We rely on Amazon Web Services (storing and converting your files), Google Firebase (sign-in), MongoDB Atlas (our database) and Google AdSense (advertising). These providers process data on our behalf or under their own privacy policies.

7. Security

Files are uploaded over an encrypted connection and are only reachable through a link that is unique to your conversion. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, including your account. Contact us at support@chromozom.com.

9. Children

Chromozom is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with an updated date.
